Rails and Trails Steering Committee
Who is Rails and Trails and why was it formed? Rails and Trails, volunteer interested community citizens, realized the potential benefits resulting for Glenwood Springs and the Roaring Fork Valley from utilizing the existing railway for an excursion train. We also realized that neither RFTA or the community governments were in a position to investigate or promote an excursion operation. Rails and Trails was formed to issue an RFP for an excursion train, promote the valley and present resulting proposals to the communities and RFTA.
