Welcome to our website

The Glenwood Heritage Train provides a unique and fun train ride for all passengers.  It  offers open air cars as well as covered coaches.  A narrative relating the rich rail history of the valley will entertain passengers along the route established 128 years ago by the Denver & Rio Grande Rail Road.  The length of the ride will be about an hour and provide a fun experience.  The Railroad will present different local and historic entertainment themes.

The GHT travels from historic downtown Glenwood Springs along the 128 year old Denver and Rio Grand Railroad route paralleling the Roaring Fork river to a park on the south city limits.  Along the way you get an inspiring view of 12,950 ft Mt. Sopris.  The train pauses at the park permitting de-boarding.

The GHT operates during the summer season on weekends running two to three trains a day.  It will open operation in 2007 running from May 25 through October 7th.  No reservations are required.  One way trips for hikers and bikers are available as are season passes and locals and seniors discounts.

If you are looking for a souvenir, refreshments, or unique children's toy visit out Gift Shop.  The Gift shop also offers a collection of books and photos relating the rich rail history of the Roaring Fork Valley.

To find us come to the west end of 8th street and look for the two vintage red boxcars in the rail yard on the right.  These are our offices and Gift Shop  You can purchase tickets in the Gift Shop.  Parking is available in the lot to your right.
